Q: I've looked at your LED Pixel Strips but cannot find any controllers. What can I use to make these addressable strips work?
A: Our LED pixel strips do indeed require a very specific type of controller in order to function correctly. As the product description states, these use the SK6812 chipset, which means that you cannot simply use any standard controller; you must ensure to have these connected to an SK6812-enabled device. Whilst Hi-Line Lighting does not stock the relevant controllers, we can suggest that you research high-quality controllers which come with this feature built-in.
One such avenue we can recommend with confidence would be to take a look at DiGidot, who specialise in advanced SPI control systems. The DiGidot C4 is an extremely adaptable unit, which currently supports 62 protocols, including SK6812 and SK6812RGBW. Pair our strips to this device and in turn to a DMX control system and you are good to go.
We must also point out that our Pixel strips require 5V drivers, which we also do not supply, so take care to match your correct power supply based on the total watts per metre and length of strip being installed.
