Q: I require a Driver for my Lutron software but I need to know if a particular unit is forward phase or reverse phase. Are you able to clarify?
A: There are 2 kinds of Mains Dimmable (sometimes referred to as "phase cut dimmable") LED Drivers that can operate with Leading Edge or Trailing Edge Dimming.
Leading Edge dimming can also be referred to as "Forward Phase" or TRIAC dimming, while Trailing Edge dimming is also known as "Reverse Phase" or Electronic Low Voltage Dimming.
Hi-Line's dimmable LED drivers (For example: Premium Series HL-DIM-CV-200W-24V-IP67) can operate with both trailing and leading edge dimming. If your dimmer, such as the Lutron or similar is programmable, we suggest that you test for both scenarios and set up your dimmer with whichever method performs better.
