Q: You have two LED strips with the same power. One is 10mm and the other is slightly more expensive at 12mm. Is any other difference between them, except for width?
A: Both LED tapes do offer the same brightness and overall quality but do slightly differ in terms of how they can be installed. Our "12mm" strips are powered by 3 ounces of high copper printed circuit board, which ensures less voltage drop. This is useful for installations which involve longer runs of strip; up to 10m can be powered only from one end, without a noticeable difference in brightness.
A High copper content (3 ounce copper) circuit board is more efficient, with reduced voltage drop and consistent brightness from the first LED to the last, as well as providing a cooler operating temperature. 2 ounce copper, as used for our 10mm wide strips, is less efficient and requires power to be fed to both ends of an LED strip, if the length exceeds 5m in series.
