Q: Please can you help me with understanding the differences between your types of connectors. I sometimes see them listed with alternative names and there are a lot of models.
A: It's quite understandable to get these mixed up from time to time, as we offer several types of Strip Connectors which have similar names but serve different purposes. Let's break it down simply:
Strip to Strip Connector - These clips are designed to attach one strip to another, without the need for soldering. They come in a range of widths, from 8mm-12mm, as well as being offered with IP ranges of 00-65. They are available for both Single Colour and RGBW runs.
NOTE: When it comes to choosing Strip to Strip Connectors, it's imperative that you match the exact colour type, width and IP rating to your LED Strip, in order to ensure the correct set-up.
If you require IP65 Connectors, we recommend that you consider 12mm wide LED Strips, as we do not produce 10mm RGBW IP65 Strip to Strip Connectors. Failing that, you may need to consider soldering.

Strip to Strip Extension - If you need that little extra wiggle room, then Strip to Strip Extensions are an ideal solution. Like the Strip to Strip Connectors, these are used to connect two lengths of Single Colour LED strip together without any soldering to be required. These are also available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm widths and are generally good for getting around small corners. Every Strip to Strip Extension has 15 cm of cable.
As with connectors, be sure that the IP rating, width and colour type matches that of the LED Strip.
NOTE: We only provide Strip to Strip Extensions for IP00, but there is another option, by which you can create your own extensions, in the form of...
Strip to Power Connector - Strip to Power, sometimes referred to as Strip to Wire Connectors, are also available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm widths, come in IP00 and IP65 options, as well as Single Colour and RGBW. They perform similarly to the Strip to Strip Extensions, but whereas those have fixed 15cm ends, these can be tailored to suit any desired length when coupled with Core Cable. Strip to Power Connectors offer a high current of 5 amps per terminal, which means they can carry a greater load.
Once again, these connectors must match the exact ratings of the LED Strip being installed.
