There are two types of remote control technologies: Infra-Red (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) remote controls.
Infra-red remote controls have a limited communication range of just 5 to 10 meters and they require "line-of-sight", between the controlled devices and the remote control, in order to operate.
On the other hand, Radio-frequency remote controls have a broad communication range of 30 to 50 meters and they do not require line-of-sight communication between the devices and the remote control.
Therefore, the receivers (wireless controllers) can be installed inside the ceiling coves, cabinets or any place within 30-50m from the remote control position.
ALL Hi-Line control systems (controllers and remotes) are based on Radio Frequency (RF) technology and thus, can work on a distance of 30 to 50m between the emitter (remote) and the receiver (wireless controller).
